When Your Bali Business Starts Outgrowing the Back Room

The new stock has arrived. So has the realisation that the back room no longer has a floor you can see. Business storage can free up your working space, but the real benefit comes from organising it so the next collection is straightforward—not another search through unmarked cartons.

When Your Bali Business Starts Outgrowing the Back Room — Bali Safe Storage guide

Start with the stock, not the square metres

List the products, carton sizes, quantities and weights where you know them. Include anything fragile, valuable or sensitive to heat or moisture. That helps the team assess both the space and whether the goods are suitable.

Share product storage requirements early. Food, chemicals, batteries, hazardous or regulated goods need specific acceptance checks; general storage is not a substitute for a licensed specialist facility.

Label for the person doing the next collection

  • Give each carton a clear, unique reference.
  • Record its product code, quantity and location in your own inventory.
  • Group goods so frequently collected stock is easy to reach.
  • Use the stock-rotation method appropriate to your products.
  • Update your balance whenever goods move, not at the end of a busy week.

Give the unit a retrieval plan

A unit packed solid may hold more, but it can make every stock visit harder. Leave safe access and position the references so they are visible. Consider how many people will need to retrieve goods and how often.

Larger units are at Kuta HQ. Normal hours are 9AM–7PM, with after-hours access by prior appointment. Arrange authorised collectors and identification requirements before sending a driver or employee.

Space and fulfilment are different services

A storage unit gives your goods somewhere to stay. It does not automatically include receiving suppliers, counting deliveries, picking customer orders or packing parcels.

If you need extra handling or supplier handovers, ask exactly what is available and agree the scope, timing and fee in writing. Keep responsibility for your own stock records and quality checks clear.

Make the monthly review useful

Ask for the rental total, applicable VAT and any transport or handling to be itemised. Published storage rates exclude 11% VAT. Review your dates before the rental ends and confirm any extension and its new charge.

That is also a good moment to review the layout: what moved quickly, what is staying, and what should be closer to the front? The goal is space that helps the business work, not just somewhere to move the clutter.

A note on sensitive stock

Could Cool Medium suit my products?

Send the manufacturer's storage requirements first. The advertised 20–25°C range is not refrigeration or a specialist regulated environment; suitability needs to be confirmed for the actual goods.

Plan your next step
